Kess Case Update 12-2-2005

Hi Everyone! Marlene Kess appealed the ruling and sentence issued by Judge Karimu Hill-Harvey of the East Orange Municipal Court. After a period of waiting and calling, I have learned that the paperwork has been sent to the Essex County Superior Court and the case has been assigned to Judge Nancy Sevilli. The appeal will be heard on January 20th, 2006 (I was told the date still may change).

After her appeal is finished, the NJ SPCA (800.582.5979) has said they will probably bring new charges against Kess for all the new cats (around 100!) they found in her house that she had continued to hoard even as she was being prosecuted in regard to the 48 living and 200 dead ones the city found initially!

Don't forget (she sacrificed everything for the cats- even the cats!)
